The Re.1 initiative

BMTC, in a bid to make its Vajra (city volvo) service popular, is offering to carry passengers for just one rupee. The normal fare starts at ten rupees. The result is evident! One volvo on route 365 just overtook my poor MBS13, which is craving for passengers today! The conductor of my bus was laughing out at the plight of the one in the overcrowded volvo!
But, remember the one rupee offer is only for four days! At the end of that, it would be the Volvo crying for passengers once again!

I too was quite amused to see the rush on the non-IT sector Volvos as shown in the papers today.

The Volvos on the IT sector (335E,356C) already run packed through the day.

However, I think this offer was to create awareness among people who were not aware of Volvos operating on their route.

For the next three days, at least, travelling by MBS 13 will be a better idea! ;-)

However, on several occasions I have noticed V365, filled with passengers, leaving KBS (at 7.30 in the morning itself)! I do not know of the occupancy at other times of the day.

Certainly not on the IT routes! But I feel there will be at least a slight increase in the occupancy on other routes!

Let's wait till Monday and see!!
